What is the TAF and who charges it?
TAF stands for "Trade Activity Fee" and is assessed by FINRA on its members to recover the costs of supervising and regulating firms. This includes costs associated with performing examinations, financial monitoring, and FINRA’s policy, rulemaking, interpretive and enforcement activities. How is it charged?
This fee is per share/per contract rate assessed on all applicable sell orders.
