  2. All symbols are UPPERCASE only and have no spaces.
  3. All instrument types other than equities have a unique single-character prefix (see below).
  4. All non-US-traded equities have a unique suffix.  Please refer to the following list of exchanges and suffixes.
Equities

Equity symbols do not have a prefix.  Use a '/' as a class designation separator and '-P' to indicate preferred stocks.
